Michael has worked in public accounting for over 25 years, serving more than 20 years as a partner with various local firms. He is intricately involved in the firm’s tax practice providing compliance services, tax planning and research to individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts and estates. His approach focuses on planning and projections to reduce the tax burden to taxpayers. He has also provided representation to clients with the IRS and many state taxing authorities.
Michael also specializes in government and non-profit audit and taxation. He works with a wide variety of non-profit organizations including trade associations, voluntary health and welfare entities, performing arts organizations, local unions and educational foundations. Governmental entity audit engagements have included Transportation Authorities, Regional Commissions, Commercial Development Authorities, and Housing Authorities.
Michael has had many speaking engagements, including the Virginia Government Finance Officers Association, regional business consortiums, and various non-profit groups. He has provided technical consultation to entities on topics of Federal government subgrantee compliance, internal control evaluations, accounting manual development and general business matters.
Michael is an Eagle Scout, and is still involved with the Boy Scouts as a merit badge counselor. He also has spent many years volunteering with Herndon Youth Soccer and the Herndon High School Band Parents Association.
